Itinerary and highlights
You'll be transferred to the Cochahuasi Rescue Center, a family-run private organization dedicated to rescuing and looking after animals from mistreatment by previous owners, illegal hunters, and poachers. Here, you will have the opportunity to see Andean animals such as vicunas, llamas, alpacas, and the Andean Condor, while your children learn about the importance of wildlife conservation and biodiversity.
Continue to Awanakancha, where you'll observe a weaving demonstration and have the opportunity to feed friendly llamas and alpacas. From here, continue to Pisac.
Pisac is the biggest archaeological site in the region. Here, you'll explore the ancient Inca irrigation systems, astronomy centers, Inca burials, terraces, and the famous Textile Market. After lunch, continue to Ollantaytambo.
Visit the Ollantaytambo Fortress, where the Battle of Ollantaytambo was fought in 1537 against Spanish soldiers.
