Itinerary and highlights

We’ll depart early from Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, watching the sunrise over the Andes. Our guide will introduce the history of the Sacred Valley and its importance to the Incas. From here, we’ll take a scenic route toward Chinchero, passing high Andean landscapes and picturesque villages along the way.

In Chinchero, you’ll discover a vibrant Andean village where Inca traditions are still alive. Visit the colorful local market and watch artisans demonstrate traditional weaving and dyeing techniques using natural plants. Explore Inca ruins and the colonial church built upon ancient stone walls, a perfect example of cultural fusion.

At Moray, we’ll explore fascinating circular terraces once used by the Incas as an agricultural research center. Each level created a different microclimate to experiment with crops. Learn how these terraces reflect the Incas’ advanced knowledge of farming, environment, and science amid stunning mountain scenery.

We’ll continue to Maras, home to more than 3,000 salt ponds used since pre-Inca times. Discover how locals still harvest salt using ancestral techniques. The dazzling white terraces glimmer under the sun, creating one of the most photogenic landscapes in the Sacred Valley.

Explore Ollantaytambo, one of the best-preserved Inca towns in Peru. Visit its massive stone fortress, learn about Inca leaders like Manco Inca, and walk along the original cobblestone streets still inhabited today. Enjoy panoramic views of the valley and the surrounding Andes.

Before returning to Cusco, we’ll visit Pisaq, famous for its vast Inca ruins and impressive agricultural terraces carved into the mountainside. Learn about the ancient farming systems and stroll through the lively artisan market, where locals sell handmade jewelry, ceramics, and colorful textiles.

After a full day of exploration, we’ll enjoy a scenic drive back to Cusco, arriving in the evening. Take in the last views of the Sacred Valley as the sun sets over the Andes, the perfect conclusion to an unforgettable cultural journey.
