Itinerary and highlights
Beginning in the town of CHINCHERO, we will behold this beautiful village which is a wonderful example of Inca and colonial style architecture. You will see the authentic weaving process of garments and textiles passed down since the time of the Inca.
We will continue the trip to MORAY, one of the most unique archaeological sites in the region. It’s natural gigantic holes were used by the Inca to engineer their farming terraces complete with irrigation canals – indeed the ancient greenhouse. The gigantic hole at its deepest is 150m. Even today it amazes modern intellectuals of just how great the agricultural prowess of the Inca.
Here is where the Inca harvested salt from the mountain and still to this day people are doing the same in the traditional way the Inca did it.
OLLANTAYTAMBO will be the next destination which is home to Tahuantinsuyo, an enormous architectural complex for agriculture, administration, socializing, religious ceremonies, and military activities.
