Itinerary and highlights
Ollantaytambo is one of the most important towns in the Sacred Valley of the Incas in Cusco. It is the only place that preserves its ancient Inca urban design. Because it is an obligatory step before reaching Machu Picchu, it is very visited. However, 'Ollanta' has its own charms. The main one of all are its Inca archaeological remains.
We will take the Andean train, with panoramic views and service on board, the only means of transportation to get to Aguas Calientes, entrance to visit the Sanctuary of Machupichu.
The excursion includes a guided tour of the Inca citadel, for approximately 2 hours, where you will visit places such as: the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sundial, the royal quarters, the temple of the Three Windows and the quarries. After the guide you will have free time to take a walk around the citadel and take whatever photos you want.
It is known for its thermal baths and access to the nearby Inca ruins of Machu Picchu. The city center is full of restaurants and shops, with the Artisan Market at its center.
