Itinerary and highlights
After a brief rest at the hotel, we will pick you up at 12:50 PM and take you by bus to start the city tour of Cusco.
Our first stop will be at the Main Square of Cusco, also known as Plaza de Armas, where we will visit the Cathedral—one of the most beautiful and imposing buildings in Peru and Latin America.
Continuing with the tour, we will proceed to the Temple of Koricancha, or Temple of the Sun, where we can admire the fine stonework that the Incas mastered.
Next, we will board our bus to leave the city and visit the archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman, where the Sun Festival ‘Inti Raymi’ is held every June during the Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. The site offers visitors a strategic location with a panoramic view of Cusco. We will also visit the archaeological centers of Qenqo, Tambomachay, and Pucapucara, before returning to Cusco City at approximately 6:30 PM.
Qenqo, a ceremonial site with carved stone altars and underground chambers believed to be used for Inca rituals.
Puka Pukara, or “Red Fortress,” a military outpost that guarded the entrance to the sacred valley and offered refuge to travelers.
Tambomachay, known as the “Temple of Water,” with its beautifully engineered aqueducts and ceremonial fountains.
