Itinerary and highlights
We pick up our travelers from their lodging located in the Historic Center of Cusco and transfer them to the restaurant where they will enjoy breakfast. The trip will take about 2 hours and they will have 1 hour to have breakfast, then we will continue on the bus for about 1 more hour to the car parking point where we will begin our climb up to the Humantay Lagoon.
We will begin our walk at the base point where there are shops to buy snacks and equipment for the walk, then we will start the walk from 3,900 masl and we will reach the lagoon located at 4,200 masl, from there we will see a beautiful turquoise green lagoon in which We will have time to walk and take photos in this beautiful place. We will also see the beautiful snow-capped Humantay, swimming in the lagoon is currently prohibited.
We will need 1h30 to climb and we will be appreciating the landscape for 20/30 minutes.
Sighting of the Humantay snow from the viewpoint that is located on the lagoon, we will not get to climb this snow because of the height and time, we will also pass near the Salkantay snow.
In the end we will need 30/50 minutes to go down to the parking lot where the bus is waiting for us. After going down to the car parking point, our transport will take us to the restaurant in approximately 30 minutes, then we will have 1 hour to have our lunch in the same restaurant where we had breakfast.
The return trip will take about 3h20.
Meeting and pickup information
- One day before the trip, a representative will give you the informative talk personally or by phone call, indicating the pick-up at your respective lodgings, if they are located very far from the historic center of the city, in that case, they will indicate the place where they will be picked up on the day of the tour.
- The passengers are picked up between 15 to 10 minutes before the indicated time, the guide will go through with the information of the passengers to pick them up from their lodging, we also want to know where they are staying so that we can confirm the pick-up time more accurately, if they are outside from the historic center you can stay a meeting point and pick up near the central square of Cusco
